The lower support of the rudder also carries the pulleys for the control cables. The base is a complex welded structure made from 1.0mm CrMo steel sheet and axle tubes. Ensuring the precise alignment of the axle positions and angles was a huge challenge, and it was only achieved on the second attempt with the help of specially made welding jigs.
